Özet
It has been observed that slang, which emerges as a manifestation of the feeling of belonging to a social group, is especially common among stock investors of similar ages who share a common purpose, spend long hours together in a closed environment, and are in similar socio-cultural environments. Investors also come together on social media platforms where sincere conversations about the economy and stock market occur based on common purpose and group dynamics. These types of social media channels, where people who do not know each other correspond with nicknames and express their feelings and thoughts in a friendly environment and in a natural language, offer rich materials related to special language (slang). When we look at the formation of stock market slang, we see that it is often created by attributing connotative and metaphorical meanings to words used in everyday language. In the formation of stock market slang, vehicle names (bus, train, ship, etc.), wild animal names, profession names, color names (red, green), football terms and the meanings attributed to them by the society were widely used. At the end of the study, the vocabulary obtained was presented to the attention of the researchers with a glossary.
