Özet

Fibromyalgia is a divisive disease and marked by fatigue, sleep disorders, cognitive dysfunction and depressed mood. It is a one of chronic widespread pain syndromes. There is no spesific laboratory tests, radyological finding or imaging methods. The pathophysiology of fibromyalgia, involves neuroendocrine system, autonomic nervous system anomalies, genetic factors, psychosocial changes and environmental stress factors. Also these factors are reason of recurren or persistent pain, emotional stress,irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) ve temperomandibular disorder (TMD) and major affective or anxiety disorders. There is four important treatment strategy for fibromyalgia. These are: decreasing periferic pain specially at muscles, leading central sensitization, sleep disorders and negative affect conditon such as depression. There is evidence indicating that determination of a multi-faceted program for the treatment of fibromyalgia as education, medical treatment, exercise and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
