Özet

Historic environments with cultural, social, economic, and artistic traces bear the characteristics of a bridge from the past to the future. Historic urban areas, cities, towns, and historic centers are not only historic documents, but they also carry the traces of traditional urban cultures. However, the historic environments may face certain physical problems such as deterioration overtime, aging, collapsing, etc., due to natural disasters, along with the changes in the social, political, technological, and economical structure. For this reason, it is of vital importance to draw up plans and designs oriented at conservationsustentation where the public participation is ensured within the process and where the historic environment is addressed as a whole.
