Özet
Two different groups of dried fruits of white mulberry (Morus Alba L.) sold in Turkish markets were investigated by the X-band ESR spectroscopy technique for irradiation detection purposes. No resonance signals were detected in the ESR spectra of the un-irradiated samples. After irradiation, identical multi-line resonance signals were induced in the ESR spectra of both types of samples, except for the intensities. At doses of 2 and 10 kGy, the long-term stabilities of the radiation-induced radicals at room temperature were investigated over a storage period of about 100 days. The results obtained show that the ESR technique can be used to distinguish irradiated white mulberry fruits from un-irradiated ones.
